Pilgrims who can afford it can fly to Sabarimala shrine this Mandalam-Makaravilakku season. The helicopter service to Sabarimala commencing from November 19th onwards to cater to high-end pilgrims and tourists.


The chopper service from Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) will be provided by Delhi-based aviation service provider Chipsan Aviation.
“The to-and-fro helicopter service, priced Rs. 30000 per person can accommodate 6 persons per flight.
The flight will be up to Perunad, the nearest location which has a helipad facility. From there the devotees would be provided an air-conditioned car facility till Pampa, a distance of 40 km and also a preferential Darsan along with Veg South Indian Food will be served for the Devotees. The stay in Sannidhanam has to be taken care according to the PILGRIM choice The same/next day, they would return via helicopter from Perunad, an hour’s ride to CIAL.



If the demand for the service increases, the company have plans to utilize a twin-engine helicopter, which has a seating capacity of 13 people.

Hampi Utsav Helicopter Ride by Chipsan Aviation Karnataka



This aerial view is going to remain green forever in the memory of visitors opting to take the chopper ride over Hampi for the next one week.

The 'By Sky' initiative in the temple town is drawing crowds by the hordes, be it riders who want to hop on to the chopper for a panoramic view of the heritage complex or those content with a glimpse of the metal birds. Ballari district incharge minister Santosh Lad inaugurated the rides on Tuesday afternoon, as part of the Hampi Utsav.

Inaugurating the joyrides, Lad said the service is being offered to the people at affordable rates. The minister said a few celebrities would be invited for the Utsav, but the names were yet to be finalised. The three-day Utsav kicks off on November 3, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah doing the inaugural honours at 6 pm, opposite the Basavanna mantap.

Chipsan Aviation taking enthusiasts for joyrides, much to their glee. The rides - of seven-minute and 10-minute durations - cost Rs 1,900 and Rs 2,600, respectively.

Those taking the ride were treated to a bird's eye view of the Virupaksha temple, car street, Matanga Hill, Anjanadri Hill and the meandering river.

As the helicopters took off for the rides, they were cheered by keen onlookers. While some took pictures of the copters in the sky, others clicked selfies standing by the metal birds. Anjali from Bengaluru had this to say, "I have taken flights many times. But this one was an out-of-the-world experience.

Tourists and residents can now hop into choppers to get a bird's eye point of view of all iconic places in Mysuru including the famous Mysuru Palace and the Chamundi Hills.This Dasara, the district administration has introduced a programme called the 'Agasadhinda Mysuru' which gives tourists and residents an opportunity to tour Mysuru in a helicopter. 
The ride will start from Lalit Mahal Helipad and cover the whole city in 10 minutes. Six people can sit at a time in the chopper. In an effort to contribute towards Karnataka tourism, Chipsan Aviation Pvt Ltd Providing choppers for this programme.

Six companies get NOCs for non-scheduled air services this year


NEW DELHI: At least six companies have received preliminary approval from the government for launching non-scheduled air services in the first four months of this year, mirroring the rising demand for private charters. 

In the whole of 2015, just ten entities received the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the civil aviation ministry. 

he uptrend in granting NOCs comes against the backdrop of government making efforts to bolster the domestic aviation space, which has high growth potential. 

Procuring an NOC is the first step in the approval process for starting air services in the country and, subject to fulfilment of conditions, the final nod in the form of Air Operator's Permit (AOP) is granted by the aviation regulator, DGCA. 

Latest data from the Civil Aviation Ministry shows that six companies received initial NOCs till early April this year in the 'Non Scheduled Air Transport Services' category. 

The firms are LMCS Infra Holdings, U Y Aviation, River Engineering, Chipsan Aviation, AVV Skyshuttle and TAAL Enterprises. 

Out of them, LMCS, U Y Aviation and River Engineering got the approval in February while Chipsan and AVV Skyshuttle received the nod in March. The NOC to TAAL Enterprises was given last month. 

From January 2014 to April this year, as many as 34 entities have been given NOCs under the 'Non Scheduled Air Transport Services' segment. 

During this period, four companies -- including Tata SIA Airlines -- got the initial nod for starting 'Scheduled Air Transport Passenger Services' while four others received the approval in the 'Scheduled Air Transport Regional Services' category, as per the data. 

Tata SIA Airlines launched services in January 2015. 

According to the data, a total of 43 NOCs were issued in January 2014-April 2016 period across the three segments. However, just six entities have got the AOPs. 

Going by estimates, there are nearly 130 registered private charter operators in the country.

After Udupi, heli-tourism to take wings in Kundapur from May

Kundapur,: After the success of heli-tourism in Udupi, the concept will now be introduced in Kundapur too. The news has come as a boon for the local tourism.
Pilgrimage centres including Anegudde and Kollur, beaches like Maravanthe, beautiful Western Ghats, and well maintained star hotels in the area are a blessing to the tourism activities.

ith the approval from district administration, Chipsan Aviation is foraying into heli-tourism in Kundapur, said the company official Suresh in a press meet held at Uva Meridian Hotel.
Chipsan Aviation which already has the experience of running heli-tourism in the district centre Udupi will begin its service in Kundapur from May. Joy ride, adventure ride, religious ride and health ride are the packages available with the service. In the initial stage, only joy ride and adventure ride will be introduced. Six people can be accommodated in a ride in a single engine helicopter. The ride will take off from Uva Meridian Hotel helipad. Rides will start from May first week. One has to pay Rs 2,200 for a ride of 8 minute duration and Rs 3,500 for a ride of 13 minute duration.
Good response is expected for heli-tourism. V K Mohan, a businessman of Kundapur origin, who was on a visit to Kundapur, took his family members of 6 for a ride of 30 minute duration on Friday, April 29 and wished the service all the best. He said that his family loved the aerial view of Kundapur.
Chipsan official Suresh also said that aerial viewing of roads, buildings, sea, and mountains of Kundapur is a different experience altogether. "Services are also available to Udupi, Mangaluru and Bengaluru on demand. Rides are conducted between 3 pm to 6 pm everyday. If response is good, services will be introduced in the mornings also," Suresh said.
Uva Meridian Hotel managing director Udaya Kumar Shetty said that temporary arrangement has been made with the hotel to allow Chipsan to use its helipad for rides, to encourage tourism in the area. He requested people to support the initiative by Chipsan Aviation.
